Community Education

Circus Solarus is committed to community engagement and celebration of local stories. We also work alongside local and state government authorities to create projects aimed at changing community attitudes to issues such as waste management, healthy living and public transport.

Community Safety

Circus Solarus‘ characters have walked the streets from Marrickville to Willoughby, promoting all manner of issues, from pedestrian and driveway safety to responsible cigarette butt disposal. The response we receive from the public is overwhelmingly positive.

Environmental

Our Fashion of the Future characters are popular at local festivals, roaming through the crowd wearing costumes made almost entirely from recycled materials. The Shower Show is an act featuring the Froth sisters and their portable shower - challenging young audiences to beat their record of a 7 second shower.

Local and state government

In January 2009, Parramatta Council commissioned Circus Solarus to create comic tour guides to travel on the free loop bus in the CBD, encouraging the use of public transport and promoting the historical features of the area.

Get Connected is an interactive quiz show created for Housing NSW. It brings community service organisations together with public housing tenants to break down barriers and provide practical advice on community services.

Games for young people

Interactive games such as the Race Against Time, provide children with a fun experience while reinforcing concepts of sustainability, recycling and protecting the environment. It‘s an obstacle course with a difference.
